Desire to Live

- Gaorisha

Tonight when I hit the floor of my bathroom, Under the shower, For the millionth time in a row, Gasping for air, While my tears blend with water, Questioning why? Turning off the shower, Gawking at the mirror, Seeing scars that are inconspicuous, Agony that none can fathom, With a broken heart, And a crippled peace of mind, Gawking at the mirror, I express my desire to live.

When I come back, For a million and oneth time, Gasping for air, While my tears blend with water, Questioning why? I’ll have an answer. For God has sent us, To stand up eight after a fall of seven, For God has sent us, To live not only for ourselves but for others, For God has sent us, To live sans the fear of death, And that is when, Each time, while Gawking at the mirror, I express my desire to live.
